At Old Stonehouse, our Pickled Asparagus are made with organic asparagus spears, when available, dill, garlic, sea salt and whey. Packed in quart jars. Whey fermenting, or lacto-fermentation, has many benefits beyond simple preservation. The proliferation of lactobacilli in fermented vegetables enhances their digestibility and increases vitamin levels. Good for the gut!
